The Australian landscape is like no other; unforgiving and harsh, yet also magnetising with its breathtaking beauty. ‘Salt’ is an exploration by contemporary artist, Han Renshaw, of the landscapes and water systems that embody Australia. Over the course of a few months, Han road-tripped along the Eastern and Western coastlines – diving, swimming and exploring the waterways. The variety of forms, colours and emotions experienced from this environmental immersion were further conceptualised through photographs and sketch studies. The final result is evident in the series of dynamic abstract paintings of which ‘Salt’ comprises.
